My roommate has a terrible diet. She eats processed food 75 percent of the time: A HUGE bowl of sugar-loaded cereal with low-fat milk for breakfast, McDonald's or pizza for lunch, frozen breaded fish filets for dinner followed by a huge bowl of yogurt topped with a cup of applesauce. She started a new job recently which takes up a lot of her time so she gets no exercise now and has been gaining a lot of weight. She was complaining the other day that her pants don't fit any more. She knows my diet and I've explained all the science behind it to her but she just looks at me like I'm crazy. Anyway she decided to start capoeira classes once a week in an effort to get some exercise in. I just asked her how her first class went and she goes: "It's great but I don't know if I'm going to continue, you're in a squatting position a lot and I don't want my legs to bulk up with muscle".

It's good that I was in a different room so that she couldn't see my gigantic eye roll.

I just went out for lunch with some people from my uni course, and one of the guys had a bowl of chips (fries) then proceeded to say it would be okay because he'd be having pasta for dinner and that was healthy. Sureeee.

My best friend just told me she's going to be a vegetarian for a month in order to lose weight.
Coworker says pizza is healthy "because the cheese has protein". Wow.

What's scary is that the public school system hold this to be true.

    The one I got yesterday:
I was helping my mentor move and she bought homemade tacos to feed everyone. I pull all the ingredients out and pile it atop the cabbage, iceberg lettuce and cukes, dress it with salsa and go to town. Several people there were used to this from me and didn't even blink. Mentor even said afterwards that she expected this and asked them to put more greenery in the kit than usual.
I heard "Do you not like tortillas?" and look up with my mouth full. I swallow my food and reply "I don't eat grains and corn's a grain."
    "No, it's not. It's a veggie."
"Strictly speaking, from a dietary and agricultural perspective, it is a grain. I also don't eat it because it causes me joint pain, like other grains."
"Oh wow, how do you get your fiber and carbs and all that?"
    "I eat lots of veggies."

My friend said he cooked some skirt steak for lunch today. He said it was great, he marinated it. He said "yeah, I put it on one of those 100 calorie bread things you get at the supermarket".

I don't even know what he's talking about, but really? bread comes in 100 calorie packages?

Everything does, provided it has no nutritional value
