Hmm... One of these things is not like the others... No mention of how the high protein and fats (even though it's pretty lean) in the turkey will satisfy me long after the sugar crash from the battered, fried in processed oil, and sugary candies and cakes. Instead, it was followed by this little gem. "You can find healthier choices on the menus at the state fair. Cotton candy, also knows as spun sugar, is among the least offensive foods at the fair."

Ow, my blood sugar. And my face.
But spun sugar is low fat!

If you guys are eating cotton candy, I'll have your turkey legs.

    Turkey Leg FTW.

To the Haters, if they try to proselytize to me at the fair: "If I can't go for the leg, I'm liable to go for your throat..."
Eat like a Beast, feel like a Beast!
Eat from a huge bag of processed junk... Well... You know.

You have giant turkey legs at your state fair? Damnit! If the Stampede had something like that, or even beef on a stick, I'd be a happy girl. I had to settle for a corndog last time.

Here are more frightening nutritional figures, from the Calorie King web site, about fat and calories in food at the fair or festival:
Fried Snickers (5 oz.): 444 calories and 29 grams (g) fat
    Fried Twinkie (2 oz.): 420 calories/34 g fat
    Funnel cake (1): 760 calories/44 g fat
    Twinkie Dog Sundae: 500 calories/14 g fat
    Cotton candy: 171 calories/0 fat
    Fried cheesecake (6 oz.): 655 calories/47 g fat
    Foot-long hot dog and bun: 470 calories/26 g fat
    Giant turkey leg: 1,136 calories/54 g fat
I'm only eating that turkey leg if it was fried in lard.

That said, if someone actually convinced me to go to a venue with that many rowdy children present, I'd have to try the fried cheesecake and snickers because 1) I've never tried them, and 2) it would put me in a coma for the rest of the day. Freak of nature that I am, I don't like cotton candy.

Better still, I'm headed north for the bison burgers.

Who says back fat is a bad thing? Maybe on a hairy guy at the beach, but not on a crab.

The PB Fair has fajitas, steak on a stake, turkey legs, and a few other meat/ veggie meals. I love it.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, steak in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Holy F***, What a Ride!"

Not sure if it's a CW moment, but yesterday my housemate informed me that LSD makes your brain melt.
"I think the basic anti-aging diet is also the best diet for prevention and treatment of diabetes, scleroderma, and the various "connective tissue diseases." This would emphasize high protein, low unsaturated fats, low iron, and high antioxidant consumption, with a moderate or low starch consumption.

In practice, this means that a major part of the diet should be milk, cheese, eggs, shellfish, fruits and coconut oil, with vitamin E and salt as the safest supplements."

Like literally, like butter melts? LOL

I guess a substantial number of my generation is screwed. And I think my melted brain must've leaked out long ago because when I sleep on my side, there's no brain matter on the pillow casing.

I've been playing a video game where "toxic spores" in the air around certain NPCs cause you to hallucinate both visually and audibly. It's really irritating to be in battle and suddenly the screen looks like a bad LSD trip and you hear cats and cows instead of battle sounds.
