If y'all ever have the chance to go to the Gilroy Garlic Festival, it's a hoot. Very consumerist, but everything is garlic. They even have garlic ice cream (much better than it sounds) and garlic wine (didn't try that). Your body and arm pits (which I realize are part of your body) will ooze garlic for days.

Who says back fat is a bad thing? Maybe on a hairy guy at the beach, but not on a crab.

I'll try to get a picture the next time I see it.

Well you could see that as part of the "education"...

I once went to a garlic festival on the Isle of Wight. The garlic and honey ice-cream was delicious; the garlic beer was a bit odd.

Swung by the grocery store to grab an avocado and a 90% chocolate bar while out and about today. Waiting on the cashier, I mentally inventoried everything the guy behind me put on the checkout belt as it came out of his basket:

One of those little boxes of cereal variety packs
    Box of Pop Tarts
    Bag of hoagie buns
    Bag of dinner rolls
    2 boxes mac and cheese
1 package of crappy roast beef

    Ew.

I have a coworker who constantly eats candy, but "it's ok, because it's fat-free", and she "only eats fat-free candy".

Hah we had our company holiday party there this past Christmas, and a coworker and I saw those prominently labeled corn-fed steaks. We turned to each other and went "They're advertising it like that's a good thing?"

Was at a lunch meeting (at a hospital, with a bunch of oncologists) and lunch is provided by one of the drug reps. All food was provided in the industrial size aluminum containers.

Salad with caesar dressing, literally carpeted in croutons.
    sliced white italian bread
baked ziti type pasta (for the vegetarians!!)
chicken tenders breaded, and then coated in some disgusting sauce
    ravioli
    choc chip cookies
Choice of soda: coke, diet coke, or fresca.

Cringe worthy. AFter flicking off the upteen croutons, I ate the salad (the lettuce was good) and tried a bit of the chicken after scraping off the coating. Bleck! Poor fat free things had been drowned in a 'duck sauce' type tasting thing.

Have some bread with your bread, pasta, bread, and HFCS.

Nothing good ever came from an industrial size aluminum container.

I also don't understand the appeal of fried chicken doused in sauce. Fried chicken is actually pretty damn good, gluten be damned. Why you need to douse it in sauce is beyond me, unless of course it is processed to hell chicken product that has been fried.

You get what you pay for. That's what they paid for and that's what they got. If money was no object, I'm sure I could source out whatever quality of food I wanted to provide to my guests.
