For the Juicers... What juicer are you using? page

We have been considering trying juicing for a while... Dark green of course! No orange and pineapple sugar smoothies.

What do you all use and recommend? I know there is a debate between keeping the fiber in the drink (essentially a blender drink) versus a pulp/fiber removal style juicer (a typical juicer).

Any war stories are appreciated!

when i first dabbled in juicing I had a centrifuge juicer---Breville which was quick and easy but not so good with leafy greens. Later bought a twin gear green star juicer, which is great with greens, but costs a hell of a lot of money. Now I'm at a point where I doubt I'll ever juice again and might need to sell that beast!

I use one like this. I use it on limes and lemons. Not the answer you were looking for, I know.

I use a Breville juicer. I lucked out; someone in my lifting class got one for Xmas and already had one, and they couldn't return it, so they sold it to me for half price.

I also have a Breville but hardly use it for the reason you mentioned (i want that fiber!). i bought it because i use to have severe colitis so high fiber was not my friend but i wanted the nutrients from high fiber foods.
if i do use it now i keep it low fruit (maybe one apple or carrot/beet) and add some fat to it (Udo's oil). it is a great option if you are going out of town and have a lot of veg in your fridge left!

I use a Samson masticating juicer. It's great for leafy greens as well as things like carrots, beets etc. It also has a "mincing" cone which will make a puree of chills, garlic, onion etc to use if you make Kimchi... And it can make nut butters - if you eat nuts.
I find that fibre (too much) can have unpleasant side effects - so the juicer lets me get lots of fibre free nutrients. Love it!

bella juicer at Target

I got the bella juicer because it was on sale and a price I was willing to pay It's not perfect, but it works well enough for the experiment of juicing. I doubt I'd ever be serious enough about it to get an expensive one, but I have found it to be useful.
