    Heavy Cream Experiment

Being off dairy since December 09. Since then I've introduced butter in the last month, being convinced it's pure animal fat. Works pretty well, awesome fuel!

Today I bought at TJ this "Heavy Cream" bottle. Serving size is 1 Tablespoon. like, yeah right... ok... Took one sip, taste good, had the whole bottle in less than 20s... while walking for sardines and some butter. Whole bottle is not that much thou... 16fluid oz

I wont discuss the cashier remarks about what gonna happen with me after I had the whole bottle. He was horrified (and obese)

Any similar experiences? It's been about 1h or so, I don't feel anything different, I would expect a bad diarrhea in the worst case scenario.

Is this REALLY have 0 carbs as stated on the Nutrition label?

I doubt anything will happen. Before I was primal I drank a half gallon of egg nog in about 5 minutes (damn it was good), and nothing happened to me.

    Not a clue.
Today is a new day. You will get out of it just what you put into it. If you have made mistakes, there is always another chance for you. And supposing you have tried and failed again and again, you may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'Failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down.

I have friends from Europe who find our whole milk watery. They routinely use cream in place of milk to drink or in cereal. No biggie. Enjoy!

It's difficult to say exactly what dairy is doing to a person's insides. With things like cream and butter, most of the usual bad guys like casein and lactose are eliminated, but there is always the possibility of autoimmunity and other damage that happens in subtle, unperceptible ways. Like yesterday I was so so very convinced that ghee was just milk fat but than in the dairy thread Tarlach points out that it's not pure butter and now today what do you know? I have a couple of small pimples but no other symptoms. What if I didn't have a naturally overactive sebaceous gland? I would still be thinking that it was A-ok. Point is that lack of overt symptoms aren't always enough to tell the healthfulness of certain neolithic foods.

Purely anecdotal, of course, but I regularly consume at least 5 oz of heavy cream every day, some days 8 oz, with no ill effects that I can tell. Besides MDA, I regularly read the blog of Dr. Kurt Harris over at PaNu, and he uses heavy cream in his coffee all the time. For weight loss, 80% of intake from fat is very helpful, and heavy cream makes it happen. You may find this interesting: http://www.paleonu.com/panu-weblog/2...ohydrates.html

Other than whipping the heavy cream and adding some chocolate to it, what do you guys use your heavy cream for? (i don't drink coffee...so can't put it that...). I have a bottle from TJ in my fridge and don't know what to do with it.

Pour it over berries for dessert. Or make smoothies. Or make icecream!
