What's the other 10% of your diet look like? What are you cheating with?
Can going through a candida die off cause you to not lose weight? I haven't lost any. The first week I lost 4ish pounds or something like that and then it came back.
I've been about 90% paleo and haven't lost any weight at all. Is my body just focusing on this candida crap or what?
It's hard to be excited about this lifestyle change when I feel like shit and am not losing weight. I'm still sticking with it b/c I know it's the right thing to do, and I know I'll eventually get over this odd little hump, but... I need some encouragement or something.

High Weight: 225
Weight at start of Primal: 189
Current Weight: 174
Goal Weight: 130
Primal Start Date: 11/26/2012
It is very possible that your body is healing before weight loss.
What are you eating that makes up your 90%?

*My obligatory intro
There are no cheat days. There are days when you eat primal and days you don't. As soon as you label a day a cheat day, you're on a diet. Don't be on a diet. ~~ Fernaldo
DAINTY CAN KISS MY PRIMAL BACKSIDE. ~~ Crabcakes
Truthfully, sugary stuff. Sauces like ketchup or steak sauce. Red wine, one energy drink a wk on shopping day. I thought with it far and few inbetween and in the "10%" that it wouldn't have that bad of an effect on the total weightloss/healthy goal? BUT, a lightbulb just went off... since I'm still intaking sugar, my body isn't able to "relearn" to run off of fat instead of sugar right? I'm sabotaging myself with this 10% even if it's minimal eh?
I just didn't expect to be one of those people who have to follow everything to the T and be super strict.

Detoxing you said?I hope you are not eating all this every day though! Seriously, your body will not let the body fat go for free and without a struggle, so the only way to loose weight is to eat LESS than your body need. Dieting down to a lower bodyweight is usually not very comfortable, so maybe it is time to restrict yourself a bit more? I peeped a little through your journal and my thought is that there seem to be too much butter, fat and oil in your diet. The only fat I would add to a weight loss diet is a spoonful of fish-oil the rest of the fat should come as an integrated part of whole food, but by saying that, then comes all those die-hard fat prophets and say that I am damn wrong and that it’s un-primal not drinking bulletproof coffee and adding all those oils…
Are you sure you have Candida? Because if you are, maybe you should look into the GAPS diet. The focus of the GAPS intro is starving out the bad bacteria, during this time you give the bad bacteria no fuel whatsoever. That means zero sugars and starches.
The Diet
I've had yeast issues for about 4 yrs now so I'm pretty sure it's die-off/detoxing stuff. It's been real bad the past few weeks and only in the past 3-4days are my symptoms minimal (thank you god!).
I've heard of the candida diet, but I'll take a look at the GAPS one, thanks![]()
