    Is salami good for you?

I enjoy the taste of slightly seared salami with eggs and vegetables. Better than bacon in my book. Bacon is pretty much universally considered primal, but what about salami?

Depends what's in it! Meat, salt, and spices? Sounds good to me. If there's a list of chemical, additives, fillers, and preservatives, probably not.

    Gawd, I hope so!
I love it. I probably eat too much of it for the amount of exercise I do (or rather don't do).

The stuff I usually get has:

Pork, beef, salt, dextrose, spices, lactic acid starter culture, sodium ascorbate, natural smoke flavor, flavoring, sodium nitrite, BHA, BHT, citric acid.

I love salami also, but that list of chemicals does not look good at all. I wouldn't buy it. Get some salami that is either only smoked naturally or uncured.

Yeah, definitely pass on that salami. BHT, BHA, sodium nitrate, dextrose, sodium ascorbate, and "flavoring" (whatever that is) does not sound like a recipe for health.

I get some salamis that just have a few ingredients. Trader Joes has an assortment, just read labels. There are less chemically ones out there.

We cut up salami to put in our BAS all the time. But nothing that has a list of ingredients like that ^. There are plenty of uncured, simplier ones out there available.

I'm not that much into processed deli meat, but occasionally I like to microwave thin slices of salami till it's crispy and then crumble it over salads or scrambled eggs.
