    Opinions on Kind Bars

    Primal Fuel
I love Kind Bars because they are lower sugar than alternatives like cookies and cereal, and are all natural and gluten free... I especially enjoy the low sugar (4g-5g) varieties like the dark chocolate and sea salt bar. Here are the ingredients and the nutritional info for a dark choc. and sea salt bar. Feedback on whether this fits in the Primal lifestyle would be much appreciated. I'm just starting out.

I have grabbed one of those a few times when the alternative was a full on snickers bar..... I consider them a treat for myself. An occasional splurge. And they are yummy- right mix of salty and sweet. There are some non-primal things in there... soy lecithin, the sugars. They are what they are, a treat, a candy bar. Not a meal. I would not eat one daily, and they might be a barrier to weight loss. But better than a butterfinger, and once your tastebuds reset to be more sensitive to sugar they taste better than most candy.

I guess it depends on you. There are people for whom these would be unacceptable. But for me, these are OK as an occasional treat.

I have no problem with kind bars & larabars. They are pretty frackin' tasty. We took kind bars with us to Sea World so we didn't have to shell out for expensive meals. Try gobites.com too! They're very primal imo.

I used these sort of as a crutch when I was first starting out and didn't totally have a handle on Primal. I haven't had one in months and months, but if I was out and about and really needed to eat something, I'd grab one if nothing better was available. Definitely echo what magnolia says up there.

I used to eat some of the Kind and the Lara bars, occasionally. I stopped buying them though because the nuts kind of taste rancid to me now.

Thanks, everyone.. yeah, I think for now that I'm just starting they have been kind of crutch because I am a carb junkie... I think these will help me ween off cereal and sugary snacks better than trying to go cold turkey

I went this week eating less than 110g of carbs a day, and I had one Kind Bar each day... This week I'm cutting carbs back to 75g/day and I think I will try having a Kind Bar just every other day, or maybe 1/2 a bar a day. It really wasn't that bad.. I guess because my insulin was not like a yo-yo all day I didn't crave things like cookies and cereal.

What do the numbers at the bottom of people's posts mean? (SW, GW, CW?)

I used to really like the apricot and macadamia nut one. I'd eat it in a pinch but I think there are probably better ones or better recipe for something similar. My only issue is the palm kernel oil, and to a lesser degree the soy lecithin.

    Cookie dough LaraBars are delish.

They are very tasty and a god alternative in a pinch. You can definitely do a lot worse.
