    High Testosterone And Primal Blueprint's Insane Amount Of Vegetables

    Primal Fuel
    Hello, I am a testosterone junkie. I feel best when I get lots of sunlight, a vegetable/berry smoothie in the morning, 4 tbsp of oil throughout the day and 60mg of zinc on an empty stomach before bed...where I sleep for 10 hours. This makes my skin drip with high T!!!!

    I've been reading mark's blog, and I've decided to try his diet and start counting calories. In the past I have eaten based on feel and would like some confirmation that this calorie breakdown is what Primal Blueprint Nutrition is all about. That way I can try it and decide whether or not it feels good, and whether to continue.

    Please take a look:

    2500 Calorie/Day Diet
    100g carbs from broccoli, kale, swiss chard, brussels sprouts (400 calories)
    130g protein from g.f.beef, liver, eggs, fish, shellfish (520 calories)
    176g fat from the meat above, coconut oil, olive oil, butter, marrow, avocado, cheese (1580 calories)

    If I split this up into 6 meals/day, for each meal that is 17 grams carbs, 22 grams protein, 29 grams fat.

    Based on Nutrition facts, calories in food, labels, nutritional information and analysis – NutritionData.com, to get 17g of carbs from green vegetables I would need, for example, 100g of kale which yields 10g of carbs, and I would need an additional 100g of broccoli which yields 7g of carbs. That's approximately 4 large leaves of kale and about 10 broccoli florets for just one meal.

    That is an INSANE amount of vegetable to eat six times a day!!!!!!! I would like some comments about whether these are the correct calculations according to the Primal Blueprint diet. Please comment.

    I have also read that eating lots of fiber inhibits zinc absorption. Any other high T freaks and zinc supplementers discover any effects of the enormous amount of fiber and their zinc and T levels?

    "Insane amount of vegetables" is a relative term. If you're consuming so much roughage that it's messing with your gut, then that is insane. If you feel fine, then you're probably fine.

    Also, you only listed the gnarliest gas-inducing vegetables. What about starchy tubers and root vegetables, the squash family, nightshades, etc?

    I'll save you the agony. You could either juice all those vegetables (probably not fun, cheap or tasty), or you could get your carbohydrates from potatoes and be happy.

    Yes, it is a relative term. Great idea to mix in others. Initially my intention was to choose what I saw as the most nutrient-dense. But now I will consider other veggies, sweet potato, and also the carbs in yogurt.

    Yeah, I mean I'd never micromanage this to the extent your are trying to but.....Root Vegetable/Squash/Tubers an Fruit for whatever carbs you think you need.

    BTW...why eat six meals....I can get 2500 in with two meals and not even feel stuffed.

    Yes, I'll consider the juicer for at least a portion of the vegetable intake. The volume still seems ridiculous to me even with a variety of options. The sweet potato and yogurt will definitely help, and I can also consider eating less than 100g of carbs.

    I like having 12-15% body fat, and I also workout everyday. Not so sure how less than 100g of vegetable, sweet potato, and yogurt carbs will affect that yet.

    For example, the overall vegetable volume/day could be 24 leaves of kale and 60 broccoli florets for 100g. Unless you have a whale stomach that's a shit ton of food. Now, if you are mixing in other veggies, squash, tubers and you find that helps, or you eat less than 100g, then I can definitely see 2 meals working very well.

    Mark's recommendation I believe is 100-150g of all vegetables!!!! Does anyone here actually do that?

    his recommendation for maintenance is 100-150g of carbohydrates...that could be in the form of vegetables, fruit, potatoes, nuts, etc.
