Does metamucil comply with the primal diet?

Way too many artificial ingredients/sweetener IMO. I'd stick to the leafy greens/veggies

Nope. You can easily get more fiber if you eat plenty of vegetables.

It's just psyllium husk with some nasty orange flavoring. Strictly speaking, it'd be more primal if you made it yourself, but I'm not going to begrudge you if it helps you crap.

It made me feel like I was defecating sandpaper.

Is Psyllium Husk Primal or Paleo? | Mark's Daily Apple

Per Mr. Sisson, psyllium SEED is "cautiously primal". Psyllium husk is not. Psyllium is the primary ingredient of Metamucil and there is a no-additive version, but it's getting hard to find. Also, I'm not sure if it's made from seed or husk.
