Anyone Get Dodgy Non-Primal Christmas Presents??

    Primal Fuel
I did!!! Some of my family are vegans, and I got the Engine 2 Diet book by Rip Esselstyn. I read some of it, and the guy just quotes The China Study, and 'lethal ldl cholesterol' for the main part. I posted a review on Amazon and asked a couple of questions on his blog. It's a popular book, but the science in it is just awful. Serious pro-plant diet propaganda.

That said, it is good to get an alternative view that confirms you are on the right track eating primal/paleo

Well, I got a lot of chocolate, so that's not really primal. I also got a box of Journey bars. The main ingredient is oats and there are also flax seeds, buckwheat, millet and amaranth. But there is no wheat, sugar, GMO or soy and they aren't sweet bars. They're actually pretty good, at least the one bar I tried.

That just seems like a really selfish way to go about gift giving. It would be just as asinine to give The Primal Blueprint or a meat-centric cookbook to someone you know is a staunch vegan.

I'm not bothered by junk food since it's non-perishable and can easily be handed off to someone else. But what kind of troglodyte gives out diet books for christmas?

My brother. But I can't really count him, as I wished for it from him specifically, by title...

(Never mind me - just being stupid here...)

I got some foodstuffs that aren't Primal.

I gave them to my coworkers.

Well, for my brother, I got The Primal Blueprint!! That said, he has all sorts of auto-immune stuff going on, and admits he needs to make some changes, so probably a good choice. His wife is a vegetarian and we did have something of a discussion about the wisdom that ' eating too much meat is bad for you'. I decided not to bite, although it was hard!!!

Shhhh... what you speak is blasphemy. Chocolate is one of the Primal food groups-- right next to bacon.

I also got yummy chocolate-- Green & Black Organic (2 bars) and 4 wheels of Taza stone ground chocolate. I'm well-stocked for post partum baby blues & pooping! TMI?

I got hot chocolate which was organic and vegan, I had to reexplain to my great uncle that I an not a vegan. I ended up giving it to my vegan cousin on the other side of the family, it had way too much sugar in it for me to drink. My grandmother gave me a kombucha kit, she says we are both closet hippies.
