I don't care for legumes (except for peanuts), so I just never eat them.
In small quantities I don't think beans and lentils will hurt anyone. I think the problem arises when someone makes them a staple in the diet. The same goes for nuts IMO.

That's an interesting point, and I agree (though I could not explain exactly why. I don't have legumes often, but mostly don't enjoy them or their after-effects anyway. I don't see gas as a particularly positive reaction, so I don't see why I should eat legumes. Same goes for me and dairy, now.

Someone compared an all-bean diet to an all-broccoli diet. They are not a comparable match. One is a legume, the other is not. If we're talking about thriving over one macro over another (protein over carbs over fat, or whatever), that's fair, but legumes are not vegetables.

I only campared them in terms of nutrition. Obviously it would be unwise to eat and one food exclusively.

I compared them in terms of nutrition per calorie not as a diet. They are your typical higher calorie lower nutrition food.
Eating primal is not a diet, it is a way of life.

Beans and lentils can be primal. Nothing wrong with them to certain people. Not saying they will be your daily staple composing 99% of your diet, but one can enjoy them.

When it comes to nutrients, legumes are low rent. Nothing wrong with that, we all like hangin' on the other side of the tracks occasionally.

Beans and grains are not that high in nutrition and in fact are high in anti-nutrients. They take a long time to prepare and damage the intestines even when prepared right. The most recent info I've read is that they're linked to cancer due to the fact that they are insulinogenic. Some of the most recent celebrity cancer deaths (Steve Jobs, Donna Summer, Maurice Gibb, etc) were people who ate a veganist high grain/bean/vegetable type diet. Fwiw.

They are in my diet these days more as flavor enhancers to the meat and a few that I really actively like such as avocados and coconut products, but the centerpiece of my meals is always animal based.
Are you loosing weight without the carbs?

That doesn't make sense, basically every food is insulinogenic, some more than others.

There are many confounding factors in vegan/vegetarian celebrity deaths. To link legumes (and grains) to their untimely deaths doesn't make sense considering both legumes and grains are also staples in the longest lived people on earth as chronicled in books like The Blue Zones. I wouldn't directly blame deaths on these foods anymore than I would attribute longevity to them. Too many confounding factors in both directions.
