    Interesting Blood Sugar Occurance

    Primal Fuel
So I got up early this morning to get dinner into the crock pot (trying to replicate Tucano's pot roast-- the kind that just falls apart on your plate. I love it... but fail every time at making it, despite how long I cook it), and before going back to bed I had a pear. My blood sugar was already high (124), but I was hungry, and knew I wouldn't fall back to sleep if I didn't have something in my stomach.
So you'd think something as succulent and sugary as a pear would spike my sugar.
    It dropped it.

I have a glucose sensor and insulin pump right now, so I can tell you that it actually brought my fasting sugar steadily down, which really makes no sense to me considering what a fuss some people make over fructose and stuff.

    Input/explanations?

ETA: did no dose for pear because I wanted to see how it would spike my sugar. It dropped it to the 90s where my doctor wants my fasting sugar.

I'm a type II and have gone through a diabetic pregnancy myself a couple years after my diagnosis. I can think of a couple things that may be going on. First is the baby got hungry and took what blood sugar you had in your system-I crashed several times in my last trimester because of that. Two, despite the sugar there is quite a bit of fiber and other stuff in pears that could make them digest more slowly. A third possibility is the before delivery drop in blood sugars when the pregnancy hormones drop. They said about a week before delivery, for me it was about three weeks before delivery. It happened so fast I just about ended up on the floor at the store. Being a type one you probably have a better ability to guesstimate what foods will do to your sugar than I do.

I've had similar occurrences, Dr. BB. OJ tends to drop it, too. Personal experience has been proving Ray Peat's theories to be true for me more and more. Enough to keep investigating them anyway.
