So I think the xylitol may be keeping me out of ketosis. I was t going to count it and see how I did. I've had it in my coffee in the morning, it's in my tea (just 1/4 cup per gallon) and I chew xylitol gum... Today I was kept busy with a heifer going into labor and also away from the house for a few hours without bringing gum like I usually do. I also had little tea (and I've been limiting it lately, trying to stop drinking when I am not thirsty). Today, my urine had that smell. It did one other day a while back. Doing some reading, xylitol can stop ketosis so.i think I've been dipping in and out of it.. So I'm going to start counting the xylitol as a carb and replacing some with Swerve which is a no calorie erythrital/fiber sweetener for my coffee. Hopefully that should keep me well in ketosis range.

Olives, you could soak the salt out of them by putting them in water.

Broke my ketosis tonight. Brad wanted Chinese and HyVee (our local grocery) had a deal where you could get 50 cents off every gallon of fuel (up to 20 gallons) if you bought the dinner for 4 menu item. Back on track tomorrow, and probably back to ketosis by Wednesday or Thursday. It's all good, right? Once in a while treats are ok, right?

I heard potatoes can draw the salt out. I read something somewhere that if you make a gravy and it's really salty, you're supposed to put a potato in the gravy to draw the salt out. Might work with the olives if the water doesn't. Or what about olives packed in olive oil instead of water? Can you find anything like that?
