It was more how I WANTED to eat, not needed, but I get your point.

As long as you weren't projecting your self-righteous diet bullshit on him, he had no reason to act like a baby over what you were eating. I can't stand a lot of food derived from certain cultures, to take that as a slight against them is just asinine.

However, to be out to eat and immediately think "what would Mark do in this situation?" is probably a sign you're slightly anal retentive and have a case of diet OCD.

I wasn't TRYING to think of that, it just popped into my head because he'd posted about it recently. *shrugs* If he hadn't, I wouldn't have even considered "what he would have done."

Besides, I wanted to try something a bit different than my norm just for a change of pace. And might I say, despite his (my friend's) objections, I ate every bite of that shit because it was GOOOOOOOD.

Well, it's okay, it's your choice to eat what you want; your friend was clearly the one being the douche. The only way he would have been okay to react that way is if you went into extreme detail about why you didn't want noodles or something while mentioning primal diets and Mark Sisson. Then he could claim you're ruining his experience.

It'd be like me trying to explain to a friend of mine why I'm emptying 10 packets of sugar in the raw in my 32oz coffee cup while telling them they're going to deplete their glycogen stores by drinking their coffee black. Sure, I could but I'd just come off as a pretentious autistic jerkoff.

I'll save that for the internet.

Well, I *do* agree that there are an absolute fuckton of noodles
    in there.

A small bowl of pho is about 535 cals, and that certainly doesn't come
from the broth and the 10 pieces of super paper thin meat I got in there.

Totally understand why you wouldn't want the noodles. Wasn't condeming
    it at all.

I ate MY noodles because I'm a gluttonous sow that can't say no. Even though
pho makes my heart race like amuthaclucka 15 minutes after consuming all those noodles.

Ah well, the things we do for love. I mean, noodles, I mean.. yeah. What?
