Maybe I can arrange to sleep all day everyday instead of switching.Knifegill works ridiculously long hours on night shifts and then switches around from nights to days and back again. I think micromanaging his diet is ridiculous when the cause of his problem is so obvious. I'm not telling him that low carb is best, just that diet is not the issue *in this case*.
Are you sure? I likes me some honey. And fruit doesn't spike blood sugar...Safe starch will make you stronger. Simple milk sugar works ... other simple sugars not.

And that's why I'm here eating HFLC Primal/Paleo.
I like a bit of honey too but safe starch is way superior for spiking insulin and helping me build muscle and strength. Fructose has never come close to satisfying me or making me feel so calm, contented and energised as safe starch has. Fructose is great for boosting my immune system when I'm coming down with an infection, as it is so inflammatory.

Yes, milk sugar is happily fructose free.
Fructose is 100 times as inflammatory and as carcinogenic as glucose. It has to be detoxed by the liver - or guzzled up by cancer cells. Anyone on a low-carb diet is doomed to obtaining the vast majority of their carbs from fructose (or cellulose if they count that) in order to obtain adequate antioxidants from plant sources.
White rice offers safe carbs with relatively low nutrient value (and only slightly better than coconut oil and butter as /empty calories') - not a problem so long as the rest of your intake consists of highly nutritious foods and you are not on a chronic low-calorie diet.

+1 for getting off of the shifts and sorting your sleep out. Yes a good diet can help reduce the damage shift work/disrupted sleep causes, but even Robb Wolf has said that really he could've just called his book "Sleep, ya big dummy!".
Of course, you could always try these too
