Knifegill: this reminds me of the book "Danny Champion of the World" by Roald Dahl I think you would really appreciate it. It has to do with poaching pheasants. But the spirit of the story is right up your alley.

Bow and crossbow are easy and silent although I stress that you go learn how to shoot before you try taking out an animal as you should be skilled enough to not cause any more pain than needed to kill the animal.

LOL at everyone. Neighbor said he'd help, but the other neighbors were out. Don't want any trouble, so I'll have to figure it out for myself. Either that or I'll just yell, "He's coming right for us!!!" before I pull the trigger.
Steak, eggs, potatoes - fruits, nuts, berries and forage. Coconut milk and potent herbs and spices. Tea instead of coffee now and teeny amounts of kelp daily. Let's see how this does! Not really had dairy much, and gut seems better for it.

A couple of weeks ago my brother shot a deer from inside his house with a crossbow (from the upstairs guest bedroom). He lives in the suburbs--neighbors are no more than 100 yards away on each side. You can pick up a good used hunting crossbow fairly cheaply, and it would probably pay for itself in free meat very quickly. Not saying it's legal where you live...but...investigate.

Legality is only an issue if you get caught.

    This thread is hysterical!

OP, do you know how to dress a deer??? A deer killed by unique methods still needs dressed quickly and then broken down...

lmao yes legality is only an issue if you get caught so this does need to be our little secret. i was going to ask if you knew how to gut a deer, skin it and cut it up. i taught myself to seam bone out a deer leg by watching you tubes and that is well worth learning or you will get chewy venison. you so need a really really sharp knife so that is important too. and you need somewhere to hang it. if you cant hang it. you need to at least cut it down into chunks which will fit in a fridge or chiller for a few days.
