    Does your office provide food? Lots of computer companies do that. Often they have fruit. I'd eat it if you like it. You can have nut butter and cheese to go with for a more substantial snack.

    Thanks guys!

    I'm starting to get nervous of all of my food choices now, LOL. I read on another Paleo blog that yogurt is bad for you, so I'm confused about cheese now. I thought the general rule is that cow's milk (and I guess it's by-products) is supposed to be for baby cows.

    primal and paleo have a few differences, and dairy is a big one. you'll get plenty of different opinions looking at the different ancestral health resources. whether or not to consume dairy is largely an individual matter. yeah, it's meant for baby cows, but if it doesn't cause any problems for you, it's ok in moderation.
    that's the way it is with a lot of foods. plenty of people here do fine with starchy foods/peanut butter/dairy/etc. while others have adverse reactions to them. you can figure out how you are affected by cutting certain foods out for 3-4 weeks and noticing changes when you reintroduce them. there is no exact diet for everyone. experiment a little and figure out what is best for you.

    The OP is still transitioning. Rimam1, read around this site to find the difference between primal and paleo. Paleo is a lot more strict.

    At the end of the day, RaeVynn is right. At some point you'll need to stop snacking altogether. If you're hungry between meals, then your meals are too small. Stuff your face until you never want to eat again. That will keep you to the next meal.

    [You know what's funny... the "eat clean" diet (Tosca Reno) advocates exactly the opposite. You have to eat meals every three hours, and if you're NOT hungry in between, then you need to eat LESS at the mini-meals. Wow what a load, I'm glad I got off that ride fast.]

    Co-worker 1: Needs to lose ~50. Now he wants to start Mayo Clinic Diet. Yeesh. Give it up, man.
    Co-worker 2: Needed to lose ~55. Lost 20 from stress. Started Primal in Sept, lost 20 more, but gained 10 back on a carb spree. We're working on it.

    Sweet potato boats:

    Cut unpeeled sweet potatoes in half lengthwise, slather with butter, salt, and pumpkin pie spice, and bake. Top with almond butter and honey if you can afford the cals, or some sort of protein sludge. They're best when they're cold.

    The great thing about meat is, you can bring it anywhere there is a fridge nearby. Left over roast animal (or sausages) with mustard is my favorite snack/meal. Add some homemade chili pepper sauce and you're golden.

    Oh yeah, bring some salt too, if you need it.

    My point is, bring leftovers and stick them in a fridge (if thre is one nearby) until you want to eat. Personally, I prefer leftover anything cold with hot sauce. I don't see any difference in "meal food" and "snack food".

    This may come off as harsh, but learn to intermittent fast dude.

    Those who are less active (such as you "cube dwelling" IT types) need less food, less often. A constant influx of calories is not healthy if you aren't effectively putting them to use.

    Part of healing on the primal diet is learning to trust your body and its satiety signals. Learning to end the cycle of non-stop eating and trust that you are full after a meal is crucial. Why, some of us even get along VERY well on one large meal a day.

    You don't necessarily have to be THAT badass, but learning to know when you REALLY need food as opposed to mindlessly sitting there and eating when you just recently had a meal ( which isn't doing you any favors) is something you need to get used to. You won't if you don't try it.
