    Here on the Isle of Lewis it's a local speciality. The local butchers all make their own recipe and it's probably the only bit of grain that I regularly eat. It's great with a cooked breakfast and one of my "Luxuries".

    I buy Orkney black pudding once in a while. Really good stuff. Really the only grains I eat, and only occasionally so, what the hell, I say!

    My family is Portuguese, and although I do not personally make it, the recipe I have from the Azores lists ingredients as : blood,fat,onions,garlic,parsley,chili pepper,salt,cinnamon,nutmeg and cumin.
    I thought there was milk in it too, but the recipes vary regionally...so this may be something to look for...or make
    My mother refuses, says it stinks up the house. lol

    I have to admit... I find the spicy versions much better.
    But for me this is generally true of all cuisines... the spicy ones rule!
