    Thank you.

Also, I have lost my appetite since my darling bunny passed away last week. I tend to lose weight very quickly when I am in mourning. But that is a very unhappy place to be.

Back in my 'hefty' days, I was considered pre-diabetic with FBG of 110-120, I also had fatty liver disease, high trigs, high chol, high bp, and hypothyroid. PB since 2010 has cured me of all that, but my FBG is still around 100. I wonder if it has something to do with a slightly broken liver, as implied in the link I posted earlier?

Anyway, when I was on the tater feast, I checked my blood sugar at 15 min increments after eating 1 pound of potato. My results were close to yours except my 2 hr went all the way down to 60 and then back up to 90 where it stayed the rest of the day.

I find nowadays, my FBG will be 95-100, if I eat something like bacon and eggs, it will go up to about 120 and come down to 80's and stay there til I eat again. Carbs spike it more, but it always ends up lower than my FBG.

Not sure what to tell you on trying the potatoes again, but glad you finished it out and posted all this!

Thank you, otzi. He was a wonderful companion. The best I could ever hope for. I feel glad that he has gone to bunny heaven and is no longer in pain.

@ Paleobunny - I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

So, after Day 1 back on potatoes, I am down 1.5 lbs of the weekend rebound and within half a lb of my lowest weight last week. 148.0 this morning. And that's with a total intake of 2 moderate sized russet baked potatos and about 4-5 oz of cold leftover smoked turkey, half taken at 4 p.m. before running off to meetings, and the rest at about 9 when I got back. And there were chocolates and Christmas baking at the meeting, which I resisted totally, despite it being mid-evening and I'd had no supper. Impressive!

So I've kind of settled into a modified potato fast, consisting of nothing but potatoes throughout the day until suppertime, at which time I add a serving of meat, moderate to low fat. I've used stuff like an oven baked chicken thigh, a burger made with lean beef and BBQ'ed, or leftover turkey meat. It provides variety enough that I can eat with my family at supper, but retains the almost all starch, very bland aspects of the diet that I'm sure are what give it such an appetite-suppressing, satiety-inducing quality. As someone else has said, it has also allowed me to be totally dairy-free, which I find really hard to do otherwise.

I'm thinking that 2 days a week of this modified potato fast, followed by the rest of the week eating moderate fat Primal, should be a recipe for success. And if moderate weekend indiscretions cause a weight bounce, the PPD is the "instant cure."

I've not weighed myself since I made the primal decision to ditch the scales a few months ago.

Good job! My gains were .7 (margaritas) & 2.9 (inflammation?) and I lost 1.1 yesterday and 2 today. I did a modified tator yesterday also. I guess actually, I pretty much followed PHD for weightloss. I fasted 16+, then I did pklopp's tuna and tators. I think more tators at some point, then dinner which included sweet tators. PHD recommends 16/8, w/up to a pound of starch (tator, sweet tator, rice) and I had almost 14oz.

I am a bit hungry this morning but I have decided to let my body munch on some butt&belly fat for awhile longer

I just downloaded the newest edition of PHD that was released today, and Mark wrote a nice introductory in the book
