Rise above that. Get a job, financial independence, an education. Then just walk away. Leave them to stew in their negativity but you don't need to create any more of it. Look forward, not back.
Thanks, that seems like a better way. Just leave, no turning back, that is certainly doable!

    c) get good enough grades for a decent college education with scholarships so you can live well on your own (believe me that jobs that only ask for HS education suck royally 99% of the time, while jobs that require a college degree suck 50% of the time)

    Good luck to you.
Yes thank you. I decided I will focus my energy on being able to live on my own. Thank the universe I'm in a REACH(gifted program), and I have 2 years to use that program to prepare for SATs, so I will definitely be able to ace it along with additional intensive studying. And I believe I do get a scholarship from it, I have no idea for sure.

I'm more into going to become some kind of fitness specialist/trainer, not sure if that will actually work out because if I spew out Primal in a strict CW gym, there is going to be a problem for sure. That's my dream job. Making people healthy and happy with a good lifestyle. Fits me in my opinion, I might reconsider, all depends though.

What do you think of studying in the fields of longevity benefits from certain food compounds, certain types of activities(play, meditation, laughing). I don't know if many share an interest in living as long as possible in this forum, but I want to study that if it comes around that way. What would that profession be card anyway for future reference?

Religion isn't for everyone, and they need to be secure in their religion and not try to force it upon you. You're an individual, your learning who you are, and you shouldn't be what everyone is trying to mold you into.

I am very on board the independence thing. I went through a similar situation. About a month after turning 17, I had my own apartment and job, then enlisted in the military after graduation. I learned to take care of myself and you should as well. I'm sorry if your parents can't accept that you are turning into an adult, but it sounds like issues they need to work through not yours..

Work out a lot to deal with frustrations, let their preaching go in one ear and out the other, but still respect them and try not to cause too many confrontations. They are also suffering and trying to help as much as they can.

Good for you for having good grades. If you can't get a scholarship right away, take a few years off (or kill some time in community college) and come back to university as an older student. I managed to complete my university education going back to school at age 25. Because I was older, there was no question I was not dependent on my parents and so I qualified for all kinds of free money.

And if you want to be a personal trainer or something like that, it'll cheer you to know that of the three personal trainers I communicated with before I selected one to hire, they all recommended paleo.

Paleobird might be on to something. I have a radical idea:

Einkorn is the Ancient form of wheat, one of the strains of wheat that they believe was eaten by the people in Biblical times. Tell mom and dad tht you want to eat wheat the way they did in the Bible. Tell your parents that you want to cook and bake your own food so you can be independent. Then ask if you could make your bread out of special flour. The advantage is that it has a lot of the germ and bran removed, so it has less of the bad anti-nutrients. It's not the modern crap which causes the problems. And it's expensive so you'll eat less of it altogether.

With your parents around, you probably can't go full Primal. But if you swear off the Twinkie junk and at least stay away from modern wheat, you should be able to get most of the way there. You're so young that being non-primal won't do permanent damage. You have time.
5'0" female, 43 years old. Started Primal October 31, 2011, at a skinny fat 111.5 lbs. Low weight: 99.5 lb on a fast. Current weight: skinny-fat 106.5 lbs because of sugar cheating.

MY PRIMAL: I (try to) follow by-the-book primal as advocated by Mark Sisson, except for whey powder and a bit of cream. I aim for 80-90 g carb/day and advocate a two-month strict adjustment for newbies. But everybody is different and other need to tweak Primal to their own needs.

I always seem to lose the link for it, but there was an article written that talks about how fruits and vegetables were in the Garden of Eden, the use of animals was a gift from God after the fall, but farming was a curse. Seriously, it's all there in the first few chapters of Genesis.

Note: Don't think that bringing this up will help anything, but it's good to remember.

Trying to convice you parents that you are right and they are wrong may not be the way to go. You will most likely not be able to dissuade them from the way they think. Also acting out and spouting off at home or the gym may not be the best way to advance you position. Lead by example if you look healthy and fit and seem to know what you are doing people around you may ask what you do or how you stay in shape, that would give you an opportunity to explain primal living to someone who may need the help.
Personally even if I agreed with someone 100% and they are acting foolish that sort of turns me off to them and their ideas.

As for the food part I can't see why they would complain that you would want to eat meat and veggies. I can see however that some of the things that people eat and try within a primal/paleo diet could be expensive and if they have to purchase it. It may not fit their budget or be hard for them to obtain.

I think this is good advice especially if you want to buy your own food or supplements/supplies that may be suitable for you.
Lastly don't wish away your time until you are 18 you never get that time back, use it wisely.
I find your lack of bacon disturbing.

This is not bad advice. I went straight to a 4 year University. I sat in my Bio 101 (or whatever it was called) class with 250 people. My buddy sat in his Bio 101 class at the community college with 15 people. I paid 4 times as much as him. When he graduated from community college and came to the university his Bio 101 counted just like mine. So long story short - community college can be a very smart move.

If you are going to 'take time off' give the military a look. If you are more cerebral you might want to look into the air force. If you want more 'fitness' oriented perhaps the Army or Marines (not that there are not fit people in the Air Force). The GI Bill is nothing to sneeze at and deployments are scaling way down.

Thanks for that, I will be sure to let them know about it. I don't plan on bread, I prefer my fatty meats and organs I'm going to get an income of like 300 a week for working on Saturday for just 8 hours, just my luck I guess that my dad found a really high pay by the hour. I have no problem being Primal at home, it's just that my parents go out very often, and I don't always get a chance of primal, and there is a serious problem it I don't eat something as you can imagine.
