Worn holes in the soles of my vivobarefoots page

I've had my VivoBarefoot Neos for about 16 months. I've been walking about three miles a day in them. Now they have holes worn through in both heels, and it looks like one of them is about to wear through on the ball as well.

I can't afford a new pair. I have no other (wearable) shoes. Options?

I bought those "water" or beach shoes at the end of the season for $3 and I love them. My husband wears vibrams and they feel about the same, actually. I wear them whenever I walk/hike with no problems.
