The taste of raw milk vs. pasteurized? page

If you have had both, which do you prefer? And does the thought of raw milk "scare" you?

I prefer the taste of the raw milk. Unfortunately i currently have no access to it. One of my fonest childhood memories is drinking raw cow's milk from a bucket right after my grand parents had finished milking the cows. So much better than store bought. I would have no qualms about drinking raw milk if i happen upon some.

I don't like plain milk in general (never have, even as a kid) so couldn't help you. I've been drinking raw goat milk with strawberries and was using LF organic milk for coffee, but after reading the Chris Kresser post I'm going to see if it was the lactose after all or due to gut issues. I don't really see the point in raw cow's milk, as I only have it in my cafe con leche, but there's a local dairy that sells low temp pasteurized non-homo milk that I bought 1/2 gallon of today. The taste in my coffee is pretty good. That plus I couldn't get full fat LF milk around here.

I think they taste about the same, with raw milk being the better choice. I have no fear of raw milk... but then where I buy mine the farm that is the vendor posts all the test results right next to the fridge where it's kept, so it's kinda nice. If the milk doesn't pass testing at the farm, then my store doesn't have any in stock that week. Kinda reassuring when a retailer is watching out for their customer

I prefer the taste of raw. Not being pasteurized doesn't scare me, just means you have to be a smart consumer and find out where your milk is coming from and ensure that they are using clean and safe practices on the farm.

Raw tastes better... delicious, creamy and sweet.

Store bought milk tastes off... it tasted 'off' to me for YEARS before I ever switched to Raw. Kind of like cow sweat. Funky, weird, and unhealthy.

Since I switched to raw... husband no longer likes the taste of store milk either. And he thought it was 'fine' before.
He now says store milk just doesn't taste right or fresh. "It tastes like they'v done something to it" he says... and they have... they've killed it.

Once you have had raw milk, pasteurized stuff tastes dead, like chalk water. Bleh!

Exactly... when store milk goes bad it rots... when Raw milk goes "off" it's Clabbered, and still VERY useful! Not "Bad" at all.

Store milk makes me sick if I drink it...
Lactose intolerant my @$$... CAFO factory hormone laden pasteurized homogenized bullshit laden govt intolerant is what my gut really is.
