But I really like my sleep too. what to do, what to do. I'm visiting a friend tonight who has been on an overseas jaunt for 2 mths, so I know I'll be drinking wine again tonight. I know, I know, I could choose not to, but having a wine with a friend is just so convivial!

Gosh, wine can put me to sleep. Knocking over a bottle is the one thing that will overcome my insomnia, its just a bit of a bad habit!!

I know what you mean. I faced that in January with left over xmas 'catch ups'. It's not so much the absence of self control - not being able to drink mineral water instead of wine - it's that its not all that companionable to go for 'drinks' and sit there and drink water whilst your friend drinks. Its about making the other person feel comfortable. I get it. I wish wine helped you sleep too!

Definitely get the umbrella if you can manage it.

Sucks about the sleep. Are you always having a crappy sleep after having a drink? Do you consistently sleep better when you don't?

yup, if I've been drinking wine, I nearly always sleep badly. However I cant always blame the wine for sleeping badly, I just seem to go through phases of crap sleep as well.

sigh, so not the best nights sleep and we all know why. I am going to have to seriously re-evaluate my love affair with wine. for starters, I hardly ever know when I've had enough. drinking wine without food is where I get into trouble. If I just had a nice glass (max 2) with dinner I'd probably be fine. more sighing. Oh well, today is another day and I can plan to be sensible today cause really the whole of yesterday was just a disaster.

B poached egg on gluten free toast
L the fireman and i were ravenously hungry and decided to pop around to the waterfront to find something. a restaurant there was doing $10 curries. (cheap) so we both had a curry which came with rice, naan and poppadom. I didnt eat a lot of the rice but I ate all my naan. I also had a beer with lunch. bad bad bad
D Well, lots of wine beforehand and then our friends shouted us out for dinner cause we were all getting too drunk to cook (well except the fireman, he practically never gets drunk, he is sensible - what he is doing with me i dont know) I had steak and chips, followed by a creme brulee.

Thankfully here I am on a new day, ready to start afresh. I even remembered to get bacon out of the freezer last night!

went and had a look at tilting umbrellas yesterday. There is a big difference in quality and price. its moments like this I wish I had some money. when I was round at my friends last night, they had another friend of theirs who had popped in for a drink. she had just signed the settlement with her ex getting out of their joint business. she's only got 4.5 million in the bank and is worried how she'll live!. oh dear, what a shame! I dont think she needs to spend any time worrying about how much a tilting umbrella costs!

my friends want to come to vegas with us. I'm worried that the fireman is feeling the pressure that people might think we are getting married or something. we arent. also, I like to give him shit about wedding chapels and the like for fun and it all seems a bit much when friends start wanting to come on our holiday - expectations.... I dont really care if we were to get married in the future or not. I (we) am happy just the way things are. But i confess that I would like to be asked - perhaps its just the sparkly thing on my finger I want!!!! what girl doesnt love diamonds. But I actually have my mothers ring which has serious diamonds in it so its not like I am deprived of a diamond ring is it. anyway I am going off on tangents. I tried to have a serious talk to him about marriage last night when we got home - i was a bit boozed - I couldnt stop laughing. yup, that was a good serious chat. hmmm I'm dribbling on here a bit arent I... still too much wine in my system I think.

It's too hot where you are? too hot you say? Pfffffft

I'm dealing with blizzards way up here. I think I need to move to AU or NZ in my winters. I could get used to the water going the other direction when I flush the toilet.

Oh no Suze. that sounds pretty hilarious though - too pissed t cook dinner.

Yes, it probably requires re-evaluating. Pity it doesn't send you to sleep...maybe you need to drink a little bit MORE and it will get you there ;-)

For how long have you been with the fireman? Las Vegas sounds like awesome fun..

Good luck getting back on track today

ahhh here we are another day. I still had a few too many wines last night. Back at work today though! all through the holidays I've been happy to jump out of bed bright eyed and bushy tailed (even with a bit of a hangover) but today, oh no... I felt like a zombie when I got out of bed. My body knew I was coming to work and said NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

3 years with the fireman nearly. Vegas will be fun, I cant wait! I really want to do the twilight helicopter trip out to the grand canyon, regardless of the cost. and I want to visit every casino on the strip. And I want to play craps. We're going to stay at the bellagio so that will be nice!

Beagleman, you'd love NZ. Not sure about aussie, wouldnt want to be there with the shocking floods they are having... I watched the news yesterday for an hour or so and came away feeling quite depressed. Of course everywhere gets floods from time to time, but the state of the flooding in Queensland is crazy!

Food yesterday pretty good but as usual, far from perfect.
    B: Bacon and fried egg
L: skipped it, but I did have a handful of potato chips to keep the wolf from the door
S: cheese and hummus and rice crackers before dinner (with a cosmopolitan)
D: chicken Parmesan (chicken coated with gluten free breadcrumbs and almond meal, pan fried to brown and then put in a baking dish, cover with mozarella and then a red capsicum/onion/celery/tomato sauce mix over that, and topped with plenty of parmesan and baked in oven for 1/2 hour) with brocoli and mashed kumara. I also had a couple of squares of 80% choc after dinner.

I have been doing pretty well with my drinking water with wine resolution. I probably need to drink more water than wine though eh?

gawd, back at work, and I just went and had a sausage roll and a florentine.... bad habits. actually I only ate half the sausage roll, it was disgusting. I really am going to make sure I bring lunches with me all this year. I need to stop with all my bad habits.
