Eat more calorie dense foods.
So I'm about 6,0-6,1 135 pounds. I go to the gym 3 days out of the week, Mon-Wed-Fri
I know how to lift, I got my workout routine down. I've hit a plateau though, and i've been stuck on this plateau for a year
I just don't know how to eat properly. I have an incredibly fast metabolism. I'm also an undergraduate student, and the food at my university is expensive for a small amount, its ridiculous.
Along with all this, I love eating my veggies. Broccoli, Cauliflower, bell peppers, etc. I like having a salad every meal, or at least in two meals out of the day.
With that being said, I'm having an incredibly difficult time meeting my caloric needs to gain mass. Going primal, that need becomes even harder to meet.
I'm what you would consider an "ectomorph."
Do you guys think I need to step outside of the primal diet to gain mass?
Eat more calorie dense foods.
Are you on a catered campus? or are you buying meals from uni canteens? tell us what options you have for food, do have you somewhere to cook or store food? Can you get to a grocery store?
Give us more to go on and you'll get more input.
You know all those pictures of Adam and Eve where they have belly button? Think about it..................... take as long as you need........................

Moar carbs if you need to put on weight. Just avoid gluten and you'll be fine.
“The whole concept of a macronutrient, like that of a calorie, is determining our language game in such a way that the conversation is not making sense." - Dr. Kurt Harris
You have to eat, potatoes, eggs, and meat. As much as you can, or you can drink a gallon of milk a day, or try and find a clean weight gainer. You have to eat all day, don't fast, don't worry about carbs, eat all the apples, potatoes and fruit you want. As far as your workouts went on the other fitness page post, I think you are spending gym time on little things, your workouts should be tighter and balance strength and more volume. 3x a week is fine with another day as a sprint session but I recommend this program for mass and strength.
M: Bench warm up, and work up to 3 heavy singles. ( ex. 135x10, 185x5, 205x5, 225x5, 245x1, 245x1 250x1)
Military press 5x10
rows or chin ups 5x10
triceps 5x10
w: Squat ( work up to heavy singles)
Stiff leg deadlift 5x10
Leg press 5x10
abs - whatever you want
F: Military press ( work up to heavy single)
bench 5x10
row or pull ups 5x10
tricep 5x10
Then on monday you will deadlift, and your bench will bump to wed. do this for 4 months and then see if you got bigger. EAT EAT EAT
Why avoid gluten?
This is a question that I'm interested in. Do we need to add extra (non-paleo) carbs to add mass on a paleo diet??
Super Mike is ripped as f*ck and I'm pretty sure he's paleo as in 'Art DeVany' style paleo. Looking at Art DeVany a man in his older years he is in good shape but he was in good shape before going paleo.
Mark of the Apple was also a gifted athlete before going primal.
What about people bulking up on a strict paleo diet? Is there anyone on this site gaining lean mass from pure paleo (or primal as it is on here) diet?
