Here is the problem with that, this may not apply to you, but people just learning to get strong (Novice) try to do this. I know a gym who has been going to the gym 4x week for 3 years.......looks exactly the same, maybe a little bit stronger. People go in trying to do the latest Muscle & Fitness routine when they can't even press half their body weight.
No one should be doing splits or isolation until they are functionally "strong", I consider that as squatting 1.5x your body weight [5RM]. Granted that's somewhat arbitrary.
