My routine since becoming primal is to only eat two meals a day - lunch and dinner. I find that this works really well for me, but it leaves me stuck for what to do when I go to the gym to lift weights in the morning before work (at least 2-3 times a week).

Is it right that it's good to eat some protein before a weight-lifting workout to help you perform better? And if so how much?

I have no doubt that I need to eat protein after the workout for recovery, but again how much? These pre- and post-workout meals will be in addition to my two main meals of lunch and dinner, so I don't want to overdo it as I really like this routine.
