Since Thanksgiving was started as a harvest festival to celebrate putting away food for the winter, and it's spring in New Zealand... no wonder.

I haven't decided whether to have my own pre-made lunch of chicken soup or to go to the local church and help out.

MY PRIMAL: I (try to) follow by-the-book primal as advocated by Mark Sisson, except for whey powder and a bit of cream. I aim for 80-90 g carb/day and advocate a two-month strict adjustment for newbies. But everybody is different and other need to tweak Primal to their own needs.

I'm basing it on this recipe, but I'm melting down some ghiradelli egg nog chocolate squares
White Chocolate Peanut, Pretzel, & Chocolate Chip Fudge

I'll be replacing the 4c of powdered sugar obviously, and probably cutting the recipe in 1/2 (oh and omitting the peanuts and replacing them with dried cranberries, and using gluten free pretzels)

    So, the day has come.

Today, Groks all over America will sit down, with families and friends by their sides. They will face the heathen of carbs, starch, and disgusting oils processed from the most vile processes imaginable. They will watch their friends and family fall, one by one, into the temptation of those disgusting monsters. Then their time will come, will they be able to handle it, or will they fall, on this tragic day

    Roasted Turkey
    Mashed Potatoes
    Sweet Potatoes
    broccoli and carrots with butter
Ham (later on in the week but meant for turkey day)
    Turkey gravy

I knew I was going to be a horrible little Grokette today, and I had a pumpkin spice cake pop and later I will have more sweet potatoes. I also had a literal spoonfull of stuffing. Wasn't as good as it used to be but those sweet potatoes man. They are hard to not eat.

Except for that half cup of soy bean oil mayo my green bean casserole recipe called for (I was too lazy and busy to make home made mayo for just that, and one serving has probably less than a Tb Sp.) my Thanksgiving diner was all Primal. Can't go wrong with fresh organic, young roasted turkey and mashed cauliflower. Yum!

I didn't get home cooked food, I had to work, but luckily I work in a restaurant. I had turkey, ham, potatoes, and green beans. And, yes... I had a piece of pumpkin pie. I haven't had sugar in quite some time so I don't feel bad about it at all. Happy Thanksgiving primal friends
