Cholesterol...I need it simplified
Hey guys. I HAVE read the Cholesterol Primer, but I must be very stupid because I cannot figure out if I should be worried about my numbers
background: primal since January 1. Raw dairy, some rice, a bit of quinoa, Grass fed everything, only coconut oil, butter, and EVOO (unheated) in our house.
I'm 31, female, 5', 124lbs
My numbers: Total Cholesterol: 227
Cholesterol/HDL Ratio: 2.8
LDL/HDL ratio: 1.65
Do I need to be worried and change something, or am I ok?
I think you are fine. Your HDL is high and your triglycerides are low. Also, you shoudn't be considered to have "high" total cholesterol until it gets above 250. Then you MIGHT want to start thinking about any possible underlying causes. Until then, don't waste a minute of worry on it; your numbers are great.

Heres another one, my husband's numbers.
He is 33, 6' and 175lbs
LDL/HDL Ratio: 2.1
Cholesterol/HDL Ratio: 3.3
Cholesterol (total) 231
