    Primal Fuel

I haven't peeked at this thread in ages, but I'm glad I did. Always great to know there are other Pagans in the crowd.

Now imagine... a Primal Pagan gathering. That would totally rock.

Diana, that would be cool. Primal Pagan Fest - I'll bring the mugwort smudge sticks & yarrow mead!

@primalpanda: I haven't taken the time to find and read a copy of the introduction yet; I'll have to be extremely bored one day to waste time reading the full fifty pages. In a nutshell, Cameron & Comfort plan to prove the unscientific basis that "everything came from nothing" (because Darwin apparently covered cosmology), offer a balanced view of creationism (lol), and establish Hitler's connection to Darwin as well as Darwin's own racism and degradation of women (not even worth commenting on). Surely, this will save the poor, sheltered college students from the intellectual and spiritual subjugation of evil atheist professors and their evolutionary agenda!

@SS: I agree that promoting this event will only serve to expose the flawed arguments and blatant fallacies promoted by creationists. Anyone with any lingering doubts as to the juvenile intellect of Ray Comfort need only watch: http://tinyurl.com/mrdqu

I am also frightened by the perseverance of belief in magic and supernatural events based on the tenets of blind faith and hopeful speculation. However, I have recently become interested in some paganism and eclectic wicca after watching this: http://tinyurl.com/ydb5tu7

I am intrigued by the idea of a practice that revolves around natural processes, tribal interactions, and individual spirituality whilst remaining devoid of theism, dogma, and scripture. It almost sounds like the best of both worlds, a secular community that acknowledges the presence of the undefined in our lives while remaining grounded in natural realism.

And Maba, thanks for the heads-up that Dawkins is on the Colbert report! I don't have a television right now and probably wouldn't have noticed it on Hulu.

    Religion: Atheist

    Politics: Liberal

Cool question. Interesting to see what others drawn to Primal are like in these areas.

RELIGION: Whilst i'm facinated by religion and have studied theology at degree level and also studied both Neo paganism and paleoethnology quite deeply I'm a STRONG aethiest who has personally expereinced so-called occult powers such as telepathy, telekenesis, precognition etc. and I belive that they are just natural abilities that most animals have.

POLITICS: Not sure. Definatly not a communist or a socialist as i see too many people taking advantage of our health care system and our benefits system.

SEX: yes, please (with my SO.

Atheist, liberal. This may be the only place where I'm not the outlier.
