I finally found some grass fed beef - from calf to slaughter http://www.trailsendbeef.com/ They are a small, local outfit and they happily had my family come down this weekend for a visit - exceptional people. We placed an order for a 1/4 including organ meats, soup bones, and fat - for my pemican experiment :-)

After the visit we zipped up to Calgary where I finally purchased my bow (PSE Bow Madness) to begin my foray into hunting. I have long been an avid fly fisherman and have always wanted to harvest my own game meat and have made jerky for years. I am just starting to get into sausage making so supplying my own meat just seems to be a logical step. I am not sure I will make this hunting season though as I haven't shot a bow in 20 years...going to need some practice :-)
