So I've had to go back on insulin thanks to my pregnancy (really, it's a good thing. If I wasn't so insulin resistant it would mean the baby wasn't growing properly). I'm on an insulin pump and have been on a continuous glucose sensor insert for just over a month. You know what's really interesting? Nothing spikes my sugar harder and faster than a baked good (hey, I'm pregnant. I have my moments of weakness, okay? LOL). What's the main ingredient of most baked goods? Wheat/flour. People say the body doesn't recognize the difference between a bag of flour and a bag of sugar. When one stops to think that weight loss is really about controlling insulin, the flour to sugar theory is a real eye opener. Mull it over. Tell me what YOU think!
