Oh good on the probiotics- he doesn't eat a lot of fermented foods. This is how passive he is about this: I started giving him fish oil and vitamin D3 every morning even before he started his new diet and he just takes it- he doesn't even know which is which. It's not that he doesn't care, it's just that I've taken charge of his diet and he trusts me. He makes so many important decisions every day and works really hard, I think it's a relief not to have to read up because I already have.

Update: His triglycerides are down 100 points (still high though), everything has improved- although still high. But good enough so that his doctor isn't pushing statins and encouraging him to continue what he's doing. Which he's happy to do.
Just thought I'd throw that out there. Thanks for the encouragement.
