    1. You have to make it so it's not completely miserable...it seems most people find they can do well on 2-3lbs per day. I think I tended to overeat the first few days then it all evened out.

    2. Supplements are fine, whatever you were doing, keep on.

    3. I think it's best to cut back on exercise. Walking is fine, but CrossFitting/Lifting should probably stop. Think of it as a de-load week.

    I would take:
    A good Multi
    High DHA Omega-3
    K-2
    ZMA
B-12 if not in high amount in Multi

I would absolutely keep exercising, esp lifting.

October 16 through the 23, I did the PPD. I lost 8.2 lbs. I feel like doing it again. Is 5 to 6 weeks between to soon? I'm a female, 5'4" and I weigh 133 lbs. I've lost about 111 lbs eating Primally, 8.2 of that was PPD. I feel very close to my goal but I'm not sure what I should weigh. I've seen weights from 105 lbs. to 125 lbs listed for a 5'4" woman. I'm pretty sure I have medium size bones. I'd welcome any input. Thanks.

I'm curious how this would work with additional fruits, vegetables, rice, and sweet potatoes added, while avoiding especially high protein/fat foods for the two week duration. I'd be willing to find out! Anyone interested in me doing that experiment? I'd be happy to chronicle it.

I have recent lab work with follow-ups scheduled, glucose meter and strips, a Paleo doctor, virtually every supplement known to man in my pantry, and lots of weight to lose.

I think it would work fine, but it'd just be a straight-up vegan whole-30 kind of deal. Nothing wrong with that, though. If you like to experiment, maybe try alternate days of just potatoes one day and added fruits/veggies the next and make observations on your hunger and such. There is no right and wrong to the PPD, a diet like you are describing would be sustainable for a lot longer than the standard PPD as put out by Tatertot on this thread.

If I had known about the PPD when I started PB several years ago, I would have incorporated it until i got to my goal weight. I think alternate week PPD would be perfect, as long as the other week was super high quality Primal Blueprint and not a crap-fest cheat week...

I would love to see you do an N=1 with potatoes and other plants and see how you do. I'm especially curious about the blood sugar aspect. If you have lots of strips, take glucose readings every 15 minutes for 3 hours after eating and plot on a chart, do this for 'only potatoes' and 'potatoes+stuff'. If you do this, it would also be cool to do it now, before you start, charting your primal blueprint glucose curve.

    Good luck!

You know what I just realized? PPD means Post Partum Depression to some people. Reminds me of when a young lady was talking about her ED and some guy chimes in on page three, have you tried Viagra?

Okay, so I did the shredded potatoes in the waffle iron, and all I have to say is:

DO NOT ATTEMPT IF YOU ARE SUDDENLY STARVING

Cuz they take awhile, like Otzi said.... but still, I had to scrape the first one off and
hoark it because it smelled too damn good.

The second one got full time on the waffle maker, then spritzed with vinegar and salt.

Another thing I know, is that I need to buy a water bottle and fill it with vinegar because
    holy frankenf*cks that was DELICIOUS.

And, it's also hilarious how a 1lb potato can wither down to 70 grams of waffle ironed shreds.

In other news, with regard to Monday's upcoming challenge, since October 29th I have specifically
over eaten on natural carbs (nothing processed) and cut down protein.

SO, when the potato challenge ensues, I can be semi-assured what I gain or lose, isn't stupid
    jackass water.

My glycogen stores are probably overflowing with consuming 200g of carbs a day for a month, so
    there!

And like I said before, I've been doing potatoes during the day MOST DAYS and then like steak
and potato at night, so all potatoes starting Monday shouldn't be too much of a shock.

I also walk about 3-7 miles a day and lift weights M, W, F - and that will not change next week
unless "my body tells me to do so".

Like yesterday - didn't do jack shit in the way of exercise cuz I just wasn't feeling it and it was yucky
outside and the 5 loads of laundry were calling me (even though, here they still sit..... ahem), but TODAY,
after an almost all potato day yesterday, and only 1188 calories, I woke up full of piss and vinegar.

Totally rocked it at the gym in the weight room and then did some sprints and hills on the treadmill. Wha?

Also, with regard to next week, I refuse to give up MY coffee in the morning as well, which consists of 15g
of heavy cream and 75g of 2% milk.

I don't think the 7g of fat is going to kill the challenge.

I'm not a big fat eater either - I think I averaged 30g a day this past month, so no biggie.

    Julie

p.s. I may sign up on my husband's computer with my real name, as A.) I'm never going to see my abs
and I couldn't give two shits, and B.) it's just easier to go with my real name anyway.

Wanted to post this over here, this was my comment over at freetheanimal.

"TT, thanks for that post because somehow i missed the quote from Peter. I believe Ray said that our bodies have quite a bit of reserves when it comes to vitamins/minerals and it will scrounge what it needs. So becouse of this, i wonder if white rice would work just as well for 1-2 weeks. Maybe added soy sauce for a bit of sodium and protein. Its interesting because it would be even easier to eat nothing but rice, just have a cooker going 24-7 and grab a bowl when hungry."

I thought this might be an interesting experiment. A rice cooker is so much more convenient then potatoes and im sure for millions of Asians, rice is mostly all they eat. I know white rice has a pathetic nutrient profile but since its only a week or two and the mechanisms dont seem to have much to do with nutrients, maybe this would work well.

    Any thoughts?
