    Read the actual ingredients list.........

It's usually full of crap binders, mainly WHEAT.
Those 13grams of CARBs didn't come out of a fish you know.

    I wouldn't touch that stuff.

    Step away from the Krab.

Start learning to always look at ingredients as well as nutritional info. If your product is the same as what they sell here, basically they take fish they can't sell whole or in fillets (i.e. scraps), grind it up, put a binder and some "flavor" in it, and dye the edges the same color as some crabs look after being cooked. It's kind of the equivalent of fish bologna.

I don't have a problem with companies maximizing profits by finding a use for scraps, but I sure wish they'd slap a petfood label on it instead of dressing it up as fake fish food sorta product.

Yeah, I have a seafood cookbook that explains step by step how that "imitation crab meat" is made. It was waaaay worse than I could even imagine! I don't think anyone could eat that stuff after reading what I read. There is a lot of processing and additives involved. I would explain it in detail, but I'm not going digging through boxes in my bedroom to do so, sorry. Just trust me, its gross. Simply reading the ingredients doesn't give you a clear enough picture of how awful that stuff is. I am sure you can google it or something though... I agree with the "equivalent of fish bologna" statement above!

You can get real crab in a can. I used to love Krab. I won't eat MSG cocktails like that anymore.

That fake crab is known as crabsticks in the UK.

I find them pretty gross (especially the lurid pink food dye) and they get the Frankenfood label from me.

I'll eat a tiny bit when they're used in Sushi, e.g. California rolls, but generally avoid them.
