Not the best for HUGE mass gain, but it gives you all the exercise your legs need and builds relatively large, very functional muscle. You'll just have a cut-off point for the squats which is a LOT lighter than barbell squats.
PS: Everything besides the walking and some of the sprinting is done barefoot, usually at home or in the garden, for arch strength.
