    My first guitar was TRASH and had about 1/2" of action, and I put 60 gauge sets on there and played like six hours a day. My callouses are still invincible to this day, I can play a three-hour set and never even feel it. For wusses, I advise finding a guitar with low action and using light strings. For anybody I respect, it's the opposite.
