How would amino acids have formed in space? page

Hello friends,

I have recently read that amino acids have been found in meteorites. When I was back in high school I was taught that amino acids were most likely made in an early earth environment and these conditions had been reproduced by Urey and Miller in their experiment. Life from space was posed as a theory in my Biology class, but early earth was the main theory of the time. So is there theories and experiments of how amino acids would have, and possibly still continue to, form in space? References would be much appreciated.

Recent lab-based simulations of deep space, show that ices containing simple organic matter could form. When researchers bathe those ices in ultraviolet light, amino acids are created. [1]
