The main reasons I gave it up about two years ago were (a) the challenge (I quit smoking at this same time), and (b) the amount of time I would waste trolling through it. Like compulsive gamblers not realizing that it's 6 AM already and they've spent ten hours at the damn slot machine.
Yeah it sounds as though you needed to stop, good for you. Personally, if I spend more than 30 mins in a porn session, it's very odd. I def use it as a means to an end, and don't care so much to just WATCH it, I scroll through, get to the good stuff and get on with my day.

If you are going to fap to porn... just like all things... use it, don't let it use you.
It's really not the end of the world if you do it sometimes.
Of course if you find yourself spending hours everyday doing it... stop that and get a life kid!
    You'll be fine.
I know exactly how fake those videos are. Btw, I remember reading that when you're "addicted to internet porn" you will not be able to get turned on in real life.
    Well.. no problem

It's funny, I listen to the Joe Rogan podcast, and comedian Doug Stanhope was on saying the same thing a few months back. Joe Rogan and another dude (who both had families) were listening to Doug Stanhope, allowing him to carry on. He eventually started saying that he didn't even like sex anymore. Joe Rogan, the manly-man UFC commentator, was obviously grossed out by this dude bragging of his own sterility, but he mostly bit his tongue and ended the discussion abruptly. It was kind of awkward.

It reminded me of a passage from the science fiction book 'Children of Men'. It's this dystopia where nobody can have kids, and the author details how sex itself just kinda went away because it was completely uncoupled from even the chance of procreation. And it's true in the real world that even having vasectomies and things lower men's T-levels. (I wish I could find that passage from the book. It was so eloquently written.)

That's far away man. Everytime I get close to even having a relationship with a girl I can't help but to make stupid jokes or prank her lol. And it's all over

I'm not a sex addict or a porn addict, I just have a high libido. Porn doesn't interfere with my relationships, you could even say it helps, because without it I would probably piss most women off (i.e. all he wants is sex, all the time).
I think I have a high libido, but I don't know how to compare myself to other dudes. Whatever it is, I sure don't need to pop pills to fuck, whereas I know that a lot of dudes who pose as sex gods do.

But you were saying you need to get off all the time. Whatever. That's your business. But I still don't understand why you'd need porn to get off. I mean, I don't need porn to jerk off. But that's just me.

But to the op, I think that internet porn is kind of lame. It makes me think about some kind of mass control. I also wonder when people started having things way back in the day. I mean girls get periods when they're, I don't know, 12 or something? And guys start fapping around the same age.

I do suspect that this is indeed being done as a form of social control rather than only as a moneymaking endeavor (I mean, hell, who the heck even pays for porn?) But I don't know.

If you read the second half of the article in the post, the writer Lasha Darkmoon thinks so, too:

Meanwhile, there is little doubt that the virulent sex epidemic we witness all around us is a deliberately planned sex psyop. This is what governments want. The Puppet Masters who pull the hidden strings of our Western regimes, all masquerading as democracies, have managed to manufacture exactly what we see when we look around us: widespread neurosis, mass misery, the collapse of moral values, Christianity in ruins, and the coarse brutalization of the common man.

No need for gulags for those who consent to their own chains.

So instead of, "This is your brain on drugs", schools could also say, "This is your brain on internet porn."
So, do they have brain scans of the addicts before they became addicts? Addiction (in many forms) can very much be the result of a person with dopamine receptor issues. Does the low dopamine drive them to seek out activities (porn/sex/drugs/over-eating/dangerous behaviors) that increase dopamine or does the addiction cause the faulty dopamine?

And this is the whackjob you're referencing? About Lasha Darkmoon | Darkmoon

Yeah, like, that's all there in TED Talk, dude. It provided over a dozen medical studies for reference. If you don't agree with it, that's cool.

I don't like calling people I don't know "whackjobs", but to the extent that I do pass judgment on strangers, I pass judgment based upon their works, and her works are good. Her article on porn was awesomely written and well documented, in my personal opinion. Again, if you don't agree with it, that's cool.
