Fat Love (for rodents at breakfast at least) research

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0330161751.htm Interesting article. Makes me want to ask them if it works in the morning, why wouldn't they research the effect of doing the same all day long? I guess it is a step in the right direction though. Thoughts?

Because the goal of their study was to determine what affects metabolic flexibility - the ability to use varied forms of energy. Something more in line with what humans eat. The interesting thing is that eating fat early didn't prevent the mice from dealing with carbs, while eating carbs early made it much more difficult for them to metabolize fat - they ended up gaining weight and showing signs of metabolic syndrome. They did try feeding fat both early and late, and feeding carbs both early and late, and the mice were able to adjust to either one, maintaining their weight and staying healthy.

Here's the original article: http://www.nature.com/ijo/journal/va...jo201063a.html (Even if you don't have access to Nature I think you can read the abstract there.)

This does make me wonder if I should be eating an even lower-carb breakfast. Right now I eat eggs, bacon, half an avocado, and one or two tablespoons of coconut milk. Maybe I should just have the eggs and meat. Hmm.
