Thread: A diabetic success. I hope.... I think... I'm pretty darn sure! page

    A diabetic success. I hope.... I think... I'm pretty darn sure!

    Primal Fuel
    OK, so as a diabetic, I drink a lot of water.... like literally close to a gallon a day. But honestly, I might do that even if I wasn't. I love drinking water. Now, as a diabetic, you have a huge downside - you pee quite often. I really was peeing just about every hour during the day, and 2 -4x a night ( I drink all night. I even drink after peeing at night ).

    So, lets call it about 16x a day.

    Friday was my 5th day on primal. On Thursday, I noticed that I was peeing a lot less.

    So on Friday, I paid attention to how often I was going. I went 7x today, and am headed to bed in a bit... Even if I did go 4x overnight, I would still be down 5x a day. But I honestly feel like I might get by tonight only going once, MAYBE twice. We'll see. But I really think that going primal is cuttting down the number of trips to the bathroom.

    I just wanted to share with other diabetics who might be new to PB. I can't swear this is a result of going primal, but what else would / could it be?
    Start Date 9.24.12
    Starting weight 285ish ( scale is acting funny so I don't trust it, but 285 is close )
    CW - 271 pounds
    First Goal - 255 by 2013
    Main Goal - To be healthy for my family... I have an awesome family.
    Other Goal - to get off some medications
    Final goal - to get to about 180 pounds by 2014
    NEW GOAL - When I can start a new journal called "Your dad is not so fat!"

    Well, I went the whole night last night w/o having to pee. That hasn't happened in a few years. Granted, I was only in bed for 5 hours, but that is normal for me. So, in one week, I went from about 16x a day, to 8x a day...... so tremendously awesome!

    Me too. I've been eating primal for about 10 days and slept better than I can remember. I also have T2 diabetes so yes I think there's a link.

    Are you aiming for ketosis at all? It really helped me take control of my type-II diabetes. I am no longer insulin resistant, my doctor was confident enough to consider diabetes reversed in my case.

    Not really, because I once went super low carb for 3 weeks, and those stupid strips never showed me in ketosis.

    Congratulations, Primal Pappa! Is your blood glucose falling, too? I would suspect that's why you need fewer trips to the loo.
