    Primal Journal for Anna Katherine

    Shop Now
I semi started about two weeks ago and just kept making better choices for myself. I have quit bread and grains cold turkey. I'm having to crawl my way out from under sweets. Which in the last two weeks I think I've had an ice cream bar and a little bit of apple crisps. I am not completely primal but trying to get there. I'm hoping to post my food and grocery lists on here in hopes to get some idea for even better choices.

    Breakfast:
    2 eggs
    1 sausage patty
4 oz whole milk - Gonna try to find some raw
8 oz coffee w/ 2 tbls almond joy creamer (I'm phasing it out, gonna try to go to just cream)

Got some Cru Brui ordered, can't wait to try it!

    Lunch:
2 baked chicken strips w/ bbq sauce
salad w/ sm. amount of vin. dressing
1/3 of sweet potato w/ butter

    Supper:
2 eggs cooked in pork grease

glad you started a journal, ill be sure to keep up with your progress. Your breakfast looks good, making me hungry! You can look for raw milk near you here Where Can I Find Real Milk Products?
I've also found tons of people near me selling milk and eggs by just searching on craigslist. If you have to drive you can always stock up, I usually buy for 2 weeks bc I have to drive about an hour and a half to get it now
Paleo since November 2011 - Carnivore since June 2012

I'm gonna stop by a farmers market today. I always forget we have one here cause its in town but kinda hidden. I want to start phasing out milk. I keep a cough when I drink it. Right now I put milk in my protein shakes (Thats almost 20oz) and sweetened creamer in my coffee. I eat a lot of cheese though.

My exercise I get is walking almost every day for at least 45 min. Its my down time after work.
Try to knock out some crunches and pushups.
Some arm exercises for the jiggle I want to go away.
There is a zumba class starting in October I wanna start. I love zumba!

Hi and welcome! I think gradually going Primal is a good approach (but like you, I went cold turkey on grains etc.) Every change is for the better and being able to ease into the transition between SAD and full on Primal will show you how your body responds to each new addition or omission.

    Best of luck to you!

It sounds like you are in touch with how your body reacts to certain foods. You might try coconut milk or cream (canned) in your coffee. I like to put it in the refrigerator which separates the last of the water from the cream and makes it similar to whipped cream. Has a slightly sweet flavor and the coconut should mimic the Almond Joy creamer! When I stopped milk my asthma improved 200% so your cough may disappear with its removal. I look forward to following your progress.

    TGIF!!
    Breakfast:
Shake - 8oz coffee, 8oz milk (all milk for me is whole), and two scoops of whey protein powder

    Lunch:
1/2 pound boiled shrimp ( Couldn't eat it all)
One hushpuppy ( yes, I know its not primal. Best I could do at a place called Fish Fry!)

Ugh, Friday is my busiest day of the week! Can't wait to get home. Depending on plans tonight will determine what exercise will be done. If we have plans, it will be my pushups/crunches/arms. If no plans, a good long walk.

I really wanna buy a camera. Got a cruise next month!

    Supper:
    6oz filet cooked med rare
loaded sweet potato ( only ate a few bites)

Ugh. I am paying for what I ate last night. Major headache and stomach problems in the night. Ugh ugh ugh.
So far today I have tried Cru Brui for the first time! I love it! I put a tiny amount of my almond joy creamer in it. It didn't really make it sweeter but it tasted like I had coconut right in the cup. I'm thinking about switching over to cream and real vanilla to put in my coffee and Cru Brui. The sweetened creamers just don't make it creamy.

Not sure what I want to eat for breakfast. Maybe just eat an early lunch and let that be it. I'm not so hungry.

No exercise yesterday. Ended up waiting on the porch for the UPS guy cause our package was signature required then heading straight out to shop. Got a really good deal on some work out clothes, Dicks Sporting goods was having a really good sale. Soffe shorts for 2.99!

I have got to get to the store! It was non stop raining yesterday and didn't feel like getting soaked. Got some bad news this morning, my great aunt passed away today. So I will be going to a funeral this week. We'll see how I do with funeral food. For anyone not in the south... When someone dies in your family, people start showing up with food. Casseroles, sandwiches, chips, dips, cakes, cookies.

The rain has slacked up so I may get in a jog. I am a horrible runner lol. I don't think my form is good.
