New ones are in the $600 range... but they've been making them since the 70's and they are built to last. You can find them used on craigslist for next to nothing, if you are patient. The only difference between the various generations is the "computer" and the color. I paid $100 for mine. It's probably from the late 80's/early 90's, but it looks brand new. I see no reason to buy a new one over a used one.
