Permeate being added to some brands of New Zealand milk hits the headlines

    Milk Permeate from Wikipedia

Have wondered for a while now why some brands of milk here taste like "real milk" and others don't, could this have something to do with it I wonder?..

I have certainly preferred the taste of one of the brands who doesn't add permeate.. they also happed to be the only brand I have found who still produce full fat milk.

Pretty much all milk cartons have a "permeate free" label on milk cartons in Australia. It only started at the beginning of this year.

Meh, never really been much of a milk drinker, anyway.

    Shame, though.
