Just out of curiosity, has anyone every eaten balut? People usually get really grossed out when I tell them about it, but I figure people on MDA would be more open to it or even have eaten it themselves. For those who don't know, balut is basically just a fertilized duck egg that has been incubated for about 14-17 days. A balut contains the yolk and also a baby duckling. Balut can also be from chicken eggs, but usually it is duck.

I do not know the nutritional value of balut, but I am assuming that it has to be Primal because it is sold in its original egg and all you have to do to cook it is hard boil the egg for about 20-30 minutes. I know that it is really popular in some Asian countries. To me it tastes exactly like a hard boiled egg. It looks nasty, but tastes so good to me.

Has anyone ever tried it?
