    Content with Thigh size!

    Primal Blueprint Expert Certification
    Hey guys,

Okay so I am completely happy with my thigh development. I don't want to gain anymore mass on them so I know that I should probably cut back on training them a bit. Right now my training involves variations of squats, walking lunges and deadlifts. I train them 3 x a week with 3x12, 3x10 and 4x5. I also sprint once a week and maybe throw in 1 or 2 steady state running outdoors.

I'm not eating on a surplus, I'm actually in between maintenance and fatloss. I'm trying to lean out my abs but I'm still deciding if I want to continue with the fat loss or not. My legs are quite strong and I tend to gain muscle easily on them. Now this is the tricky part, I do want to increase my squats however I don't want to gain size.

Is this possible? Can you recommend a training routine?

at a certain point, size will stop based on what your body can handle/do, and then strength will continue beyond that. But that point may not be where you are now, you know?

So, if you are going to increase strength there, then you run the risk of increasing size to that point where it's reached it's natural max, unless you are already at your natural max.

    does that make sense?

Also your thighs will look smaller as you lose fat too. Don't forget strong legs are immensely sexy.

If anything, I'd say stick with squats and deadlifts, drop the rest of the leg work. Reduce the reps (5 or less per set), up the weight.... Should continue strength gains and minimize hypertrophy, no? Zoebird did nail it, though. You may reach your genetic "new norm", but that might not be where you want it to....

I have about one week left to finish up my current routine. I'll keep this in mind for the next round of workout. So are you talking about 2 x a week instead of 3? What about sprinting? I do HIIT once or twice a week at most. This is considered leg work no?
