Nothing like a christian fancy to get things "settled."

The reality is, there are a lot of people who do not believe in this particular notion, and yet still hold the sanctity of life sacred and also believe in personal freedom to choose when and whether to have children. All of these issues are complex, and when we start putting fanciful tales on them -- rather than looking at and rationally and/or wisely discussing the complexity of issues -- we completely disregard any possible process for cohesive solution.

but hey, some people just prefer fantasy land, I guess.

There's new technology now that can enable infertile couples to become pregant... in many cases, it's probably not a good idea (for example that type of IVF where a single sperm cell is injected into an ovum... that makes me shudder... MILLIONS of sperm are supposed to compete for that one egg for a reason).

But I can't criticise people for using methods like this to have a child, when they're unable to conceive. Unfortunately, there's a good reason why we probably shouldn't all be procreating.
First off, congratulations to you and yours, obviously.

Secondly, the issue isn't that there is "always infertility". That's basically just an axiom. I mean, dudes get their nuts damaged in accidents, women reach menopause, and then just random individual variations always make this so....

....But the sudden and rapid decline cannot logically be attributed to this sort of organic variation, any more than, say, the dramatic decrease in height at the start of agriculture could be attributed to just a random variation. It was too acute and too vast to be dismissed as happenstance. The same with the fact that dudes have 8% as much sperm as their fathers' did: the scale and uniformity of the problem can only be caused by an external force at play, not randomness.

Not entirely sure what you were trying to express here, other than it seemed like you were the latest in the long line of creepy, impotent dudes here with no drive to procreate and spread your genes.

That's fine: you're a Darwinian dead-end, and our species will be rid of you for all eternity very soon. This is your choice, and that's perfectly fine.

But it's NOT perfectly fine that you seemed to then be saying (though it was hard to tell with your incoherent writing) that you want the government to go in and assault people to force them to be sterile and impotent like you. I believe in individual freedom, not having impotent strange dudes make life decisions for others.

So just live your life of sterility, and leave other dudes the hell alone.

One more thought on a supposed fertility epidemic. From my understanding, the issues are mostly in guys. It only takes one guy to impregnate 100 girls. We could shift a little to polygamy if we had to. For the good of our species survival, I will do the duty....

But if you read Sex At Dawn, you would understand how it is important for all members to participate in the mating so that everyone feels like the children could be their own. An obvious polygamy situation where the men in submission get nothing is a recipe for failure. Now I am advocating orgies....moving on.

We are so protected from any danger of our species going extinct due to 'fertility issues' that it's hilarious. Throw in our modern ability to do things like C-sections and monitor babies in the womb. Our fertility appears to be at the BOTTOM of any worries we might have about the future of humans in general.

PS- Thank god for the C-section and ultrasound. I'm alive today because of it.

Awesome. A staged photo as your penultimate response to World Health Organization finding that you're effeminate and sterile.

Anyway, again, it's good to know that you're a goner, in the evolutionary sense. Our species won't have to deal with your limp genes much longer.

Well be that as it may, there's still 7 billion people currently inhabiting the planet, so I'm not sure that infertility is the biggest issue we have in today's society!

Obviously it would be a problem if generation after generation the numbers of people were dropping significantly, but I don't see that happening yet.

For an individual, infertility can be a heartbreaking thing. But as far as the earth's population goes, a bit of infertility is not a terrible thing at all. (Given that fertile people still outnumber infertile people).
