    Primal Blueprint Journal (TheodoraB.)

    Primal Fuel
    I'm on diets since I was 9.
I had a gastroplasty surgery when I was 20 and dropped from 258 lbs to 160lbs, it was great at first but then I always had stomach burns.
5 years ago, I had a car accident (I'll spare you the details) but the stomach ring had to be removed.
Afterwards I took 66lbs over 2 years and since then I'm struggling to lose these pounds.

I've been diagnosed with insulin resistance and Hashimoto thyroidis since 2010.
My endocrinologist advised me to eat cereal instead of starchy and it didn't help.
So I've been searching for an alternative and found the Primal Blueprint.
I must have a lucky star somewhere.

I've cut out grains, starches, sugar and dairy since August 25th, 2012.
I've already lost 6.6 lbs. I really stick to primal food 100% and walk a lot more, sunbathing at the same time and did some lifting (big boxes in the basement ).

The first 2 days, I was a bit lightheaded but I had lots of energy. From last week till now I'm a bit tired but I have almost no more joint pain, some headaches last weekend.

My main goal at the moment is to reach the sweet spot.
I still eat too much carbs from fruits and veggies (between 100-150) and not enough proteins.
Everything I bake or cook is with olive oil or coconut oil.

I had a slice of banana bread for breakfast this morning with a cup of coffee but usually I have 2 eggs with bacon.
For lunch, a handful of green beans, a bit of cauliflower and eggplant with a can of tuna, mustard vinaigrette.
I guess I'll have a chicken breast with tomatoes this evening.

It's the first time that I'm not hungry, not angry, not feeling weary in all these years of diets.
I even find it difficult to finish my plate sometimes.
I've always had trouble getting asleep and often wake up several times at night... it miraculously disappeared.
I sleep like a baby now, I didn't even hear my darling bringing me my coffee in bed this morning.

To keep track of my 'scores', I started my new life journey on August 25th, 2012 with 198lbs, my ideal goal weight would be to drop to 150lbs but mainly becoming firmer and fitter. It takes the time it takes, I've the rest of my life to get where I want to.

    08-31-2012 : 191.4lbs
    09-12-2012 : 189.6lbs

    Today I had :
    B : banana bread + coffee
    S : 4 carrots
L : chicken breast from last night leftover, green beens and a tomato
    S : a handful of almonds + 3 apricots
D : cauliflower and beef steak

I've lost some important papers so I'm a bit stressed but beside that everything's going fine.
Just a bit tired even if I sleep well.
Yesterday, I ordered a door gym pull up bar... I hope I won't be discouraged when I get it.
I cooked pattypan squash, I never tryed this before. I didn't have a recipe so I let my imagination take over.
1 yellow onion + 1 garlic clove (browned), add bacon, pattypan squash parts, salt, pepper, ginger powder, paprika powder, chive, parsley and white wine, throw everything in a pan and let simmer gently for 20 minutes.

    Thanks

I had my last meal, yesterday around 7.30pm, chicken breast with green beans + browned schallots in butter and I'm fasting since. 18h without eating and I'm fine.
Today it's been 3 weeks since I started eating primally and I've already lost 11lbs, just walking a bit more than usual, sleeping a lot better and around 8h per night but I really didn't exercise that much. It seems I'm doing 'nothing' and weight comes off naturally.

3pm ...I think I could have fasted for 24 hours but I kept passing by this banana on the counter and couldn't resist.
Even though at first, I didn't intend to fast. I just wasn't hungry.

Hi! I just finished a 60 hour fast that started in much the same way. I wasn't hungry and I was busy, so I just didn't eat. The next day I expected to be very hungry but I wasn't. Then I decided to fast throughout the second day as well. This morning I had a little breakfast and today will eat lightly. I enjoyed the experience and will add it in from time to time.

    Best of luck to you!

Yesterday I went to see a good friends of mine to spend the afternoon with.
We had a really good time, I brought my meal so I didn't have to worry about what to eat. (Fortunately as they had planned 4 cheeses pasta). I had a glass of red wine though.

Today I'm exhausted. I spent a horrible night. The downstairs neighbor and his guests partied until one in the morning.
I couldn't fall asleep despite the fact that they were gone. I look terrible and I have no desire to be in the office, I'd rather be under my duvet.

    5pm... coming back from work.
I've been having a stomach ache since this morning and my bowels have fun too.
Could it be the eggs? (I read a bit about that in the nutrition posts)
Also I changed 'brand' and took omega-3 enriched eggs.
I eat 2 almost every day for breakfast.
I think I'll skip it tomorrow.
    I'll take a nap now.

I've been tired and not really in shape these days.
I guess it's because I have decided to put me into ketosis.
Today it must be the 4th or 5th day and I have a big headache and I'm a little dizzy.
Still a few days to pass and it will be over I hope.
