I'll second the smoothies....if I get too many berries (ie too much sugar) I can get hungry but with plenty of good fats (coconut oil, milk, almond butter, whipped cream - any or all of these) a little stevia, yogurt, water and a good protein powder (Jay Robb for me) and you have a treat you can drink on the way to work or at your desk.

I'm in a rush in the morning (I have to be at work by 6am) so I make egg muffin-y-ish things the night before. Make a bunch and stick them in the fridge, then just reheat for like 30 seconds.

They're just a bunch of eggs, some heavy whipping cream, leftover diced/minced meat and some grated cheese. Last time I made them, I used 9 large eggs, 1/2 cup cream, salt and pepper, some leftover taco meat and the cheese I grated for the tacos. Beat together the eggs, cream, salt and pepper. Pour the mix into greased muffin tins, add some meat and top with cheese. Then just toss them in a preheated 350F oven for about 25 minutes, maybe more with the bigger muffin cups.

When they cool, I just toss them in a baggie and put them in the fridge. They're usually gone in a day or two.

As far as lunch, kids love anything they can eat with their hands, roll up, or dip. If you can find good quality deli-sliced meats and some sliced cheeses, that works, as well as vegetables they can dip in something like guacamole (make sure you add lime or lemon juice so it doesn't turn black) or a homemade mayo-based dip. I would say nuts would be good, but a lot of schools are pretty adamant about leaving those at home now.

Everyday Paleo has some pretty good kid-friendly recipes, and she packs her kids' lunches, so she has some good ideas.

    Thanks heaps :-D
Leftovers. The meat from the night before (so make sure you cook extra). Mix it with some spaghetti squash you have also cooked ahead of time and toss a bit of melted ghee or other fat or a simple sauce that maybe was already on the squash. Any other squash will do, but the spaghetti squash works so well.

Best thing to do is prepare it all the night before so you don't have to do much beside heat it up (if you wish). You can also have a meat and do a lettuce wrap. Add some cheese if you eat cheese.

Cook DOUBLE, and put away some of it before the boys get at it. I cook BIG at most dinners, and dish out portions for lunches for hubby while I'm filling plates. His lunches go straight to the freezer and he just grabs one from the stack on his way out the door in the morning and reheats at noon.

Again, leftovers. Leftover sliced roast, meatloaf or chicken, deli meat, chicken drumsticks, cut up veggies and fruit, yogurt, cheese sticks, hard boiled eggs, pepperoni sticks, chicken salad lettuce wraps.
