Need primal exercise ideas for middle school PE class

    Primal Fuel
Hi folks, I got roped into teaching PE at our school this year and I need ideas for fun things to do. Sure I am going to have them sprint, do pushups and take lots of hikes, but I need more. We have some open space near us, but no fields for sports. We do have a basketball court though. Some fun games and stuff we can do spontaneously would be great!

    Thanks!

If there are some trees around, what about slacklining?

As someone who coaches kids I would say anything that gets them moving (after they understand what their doing) is good. ANything turned into a game or competition is good.

Got enough items to be creative with obstacle courses?
The greater the achievement the more difficult the path. The easy road is granted to those less fortunate as a consolation prize.

i think there are tons of things to do; pulling, pushing, jumping, running, walking and throwing can be incorporated lots of ways. it might be fun to come up with a series of activities that challenge the kids, and lead up to a primal olympics, complete with all their favorite activities:
    tug of war
    rope climbing
    sprinting
    medicine ball throws
    bear crawls
a sumo style pushing match with a yoga ball between two students
    plenty of others

here's a post mark put up about this very topic a while back:
